My father taught me how to see with an artist’s mind. He was a cartoonist who could turn dull subjects into comedies. Although I do not do comedies or cartoons, I still paint the words I hear in my mind before I can really understand what is being said.
I now live in Albuquerque, New Mexico, after 35 years in the Pacific Northwest, and what a change for a watercolorist. Paint dries immediately and I’ve had to make major adaptations to my painting style.
