The studio tour is over and a great success it was! Many of my paintings are on walls, from down the street to the east coast.
Then we took a relaxing trip through the Colorado Rockies, photographing and painting our way through sun and sleet, mountains and canyons.
Today’s painting comes from the Cimerron Palisades, an igneous volcanic formation of towering pillars from the age of the early mammals, almost 2 billion years ago. This was done plein air, next to the Cimarron River. I thought at the time that I had gone to Heaven. I don’t recall ever having felt that way before.
I’m now home and back at work in my studio with photos to excite me for months.
